About this app

GetTogether is an iPhone app for finding community events close to home. Open it and you get a feed of what's coming up around Michigan, from Detroit Music Fest to the Holiday Craft Market in Lansing, each with how far away it is and how long until it starts.

Switch to the calendar to narrow things down. Drag the radius slider, tap a day, and the app tells you how many events are going on near you. Search works by event name or city.

Tap the bookmark on any event to save it, and it shows up in your Saved Events. Every event page lists accessibility details like wheelchair access and gender-neutral bathrooms, so you know before you go. Hosts can post their own events with a title, location, start and end times, up to three tags and up to ten photos.

Your profile rewards you for getting out there, with lifetime points, an event streak and badges like First Event and Community Helper. A friends list and a mood board round it out.

We built GetTogether as a team of three in fall 2025. It runs on sample data, so everything you see in the preview is a working prototype rather than a live service.

Save for later

One tap bookmarks an event, shared across the feed and Saved Events.

Wheelchair access, LGBT+ friendly and gender-neutral bathrooms, shown up front.

Post an event

Title, place, times, three tags and up to ten photos, with a check that at least one image is added.

Rewards
